Milk removes dead skin cells and softens skin. It also nourishes and smooths, so it’s especially good for dry skin or skin that seems to have lost its vitality.

One point about fat: The higher the fat content of the milk, the more nourishing it is for you skin. This is one time when Low Fat is NOT your best bet.

Stinky Shoe Spray

Stinky Shoe SprayGot stinky shoes?
I feel your pain. I”m pretty sure this product speaks for itself. If you have a stinky shoe problem, this simple spray will help to neutralize the odor and eliminate the stink.
In my home, the stink problem happens to be soccer shoes and hockey skates. With my son playing several games a week you could easily faint just from opening his gym bag and inhaling!
It’s pretty bad.
After several failed attempts to rid the shoes of the odor, this little spray seems to be making a difference!

Ingredients:
• 2 oz. Plastic Clear Bullet Bottle with Fine Mist Spray tops
• Vodka (any type, just not flavored)
Tea Tree Oil

Directions:
• Fill the bottle with Vodka.
• Add 20 drops of Tea Tree Oil.
• Screw the spray top on and shake well before using.

Shake well before each use and spray liberally. I removed the lining of each shoe and sprayed it to be sure every inch of the stinky sole was treated. Spray parts of the shoe that touch the skin, collect sweat and breed bacteria (resulting in the stink that we’re trying to eliminate).
Toss a bottle in your gym bag and spray shoes after each use. The vodka will kill the bacteria and tea tree oil is both antibacterial and antifungal, helping to prevent new growth. If used regularly, this spray can work wonders in fighting odor!

DIY Coconut Body Wash

Coconut Oil body washWhether you suffer from an irritating skin condition like eczema or rosacea or simply want to cut harmful chemicals out of your skin care routine, coconut oil can be helpful. Since coconut oil is a powerful anti-fungal agent, it works well as a cleanser, regulating the body’s pH level while moisturizing the skin and preventing blemishes like acne and blackheads.

Ordinary body washes can be expensive, and many contain ingredients like sulfates that can leave your skin feeling dry and irritated. Since coconut oil is a powerful anti-fungal agent, it works well as a cleanser, regulating the body’s pH level while moisturizing the skin and helping to prevent blemishes like whiteheads and blackheads.

 Ingredients:
• 40 grams pure castile soap, grated (or any left over soap you like)
• 500 ml water, boiling
• 2 TB spoons almond oil
• 2 TB spoons coconut oil
• 1 TB spoon vodka
• 15  drops essential oil

Directions:
• Slowly add boiling water to your soap.
• If your coconut oil is solid, melt it slowly in the microwave, a pot on low heat, or simply leave it in a warm place for a while.
• Once your coconut oil is melted, add the almond oil, castile soap mixture, vodka and essential oil.
• Mix these ingredients together.
• Using a funnel, pour your body wash into a quart-sized glass or plastic jar.
• Shake the jar before using the wash to ensure everything’s properly mixed, and enjoy.

Directions: Moisten body, apply a small quantity of Moisturising Coconut Body Wash. Gently work up a lather with a circular motion. Rinse off & pat dry.

Tips

In addition to making your body wash smell good, adding essential oils can provide additional health benefits. Choose your favorite essential oils or ones that may provide benefits uniquely tailored to your skin’s needs. Helichrysum oil is a good option for eczema sufferers, while lavender and lemon oil provide pleasing aromas that can calm the senses.

Coconut oil is solid at room temperature, so your body wash may harden. To prevent this, you can use fractionated coconut oil, which won’t harden. Alternatively, you can place your body wash container under hot water in the bath or shower to soften it. Then, shake it up and use as desired.

DIY Lip Plumper

Let’s face it, not all of us are blessed with naturally super plump lips like Angelina Jolie. So, we have to  step up our game when it comes to getting our lips looking nice and kissable!

There are a lot of lip plumpers out there to buy, my favorite being Dior Addict Lip Maximizer – Collagen Active Lip-Gloss, but if you ain’t into spending your hard earned cash on products like this, then  I have some good news.

Ingredients:
• Any lip gloss (in a tube, not a tub) – now this ingredient is just going to be the base and will make up the majority of the remedy.
• Menthol crystals, crushed
Collagen Powder

Directions:
• Fill a small pot with water and place a one liter Pyrex measuring container inside the pot of water.
•Turn the heat on to about the medium temperature of your stove. The water inside the pot is going to be doing all the cooking so give it a chance to heat up, not to a level where it is boiling, but instead just a nice little simmer will do the job.
• We’re now going to grab our tube of lip balm and remove it completely before throwing directly into the Pyrex measure container. Make sure you hang onto the empty tube as we’re going to use that shortly to store our plumper.
• Once the lip balm is fully melted, add a pinch of collagen powder and stir the mixture around with a butter knife or whatever you find that won’t absorb too much of the remedy.
• Next throw in a couple of crystal of  menthol.
• Take your empty lip balm tube and make sure the plastic column in the middle that holds the plumper together is completely down into the tube. Now all you need to do is literally pour the mixture directly into the empty tube all the way to the top.

Guess what? You’re done!!

Happy plumping!
